BlueSPACE Innovation Hub, BlueCrest University and Innovation Sparks host International Women’s Month celebration
On the 25th of March 2023, BlueSPACE Innovation Hub, in collaboration with BlueCrest University College and Innovation Sparks, and other supporting partners Node Eight, Ghana Innovation Hub and BlueSPACE Africa hosted an event that focused on empowering women in the digital space. The event was a huge success, with distinguished guests from the World Bank, speakers, support partners,high school students, and Industry experts present.
In attendance were notable Industry leaders like Dr Sujith Jayaprakash Rector BlueCrest University College, Samuel Amanor Ceo BlueSPACE Africa and Akosua Annobil the Keynote Speaker for the event. With a panel line up of notable professionals in the industry including – Henrietta Mensah Head of Partnership and Collaboration BlueCrest University Ghana , Jesse Rannells, Sales Associate Mest Africa, Janet Amo Oze , Isaac Newton Co founder Innovation Sparks and Pamela Quartson Software Engineer Street Streams Limited.
The focus was to provide a platform for women to network, learn and share their experiences in the digital space. With the main goal of empowering women in the digital space by providing them with resources and the confidence needed for them to succeed in the digital space. The speakers, who are professionals in the digital space, shared their personal experiences and discussed the challenges and opportunities for women in the industry. They also shared practical tips on how to navigate the industry and also how to succeed in the digital space.
Part of this event included breakout sessions which were very interactive, and led by skilled experts in the industry Huberta Osei, Eli Daniel Wilson, Rashida Musa, Pamela Quartson and the sessions were tailored to different topics including, digital marketing,cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence & starting a tech career path.
Present at this event was final year students of Odorgonno Senior high school, who were interested in learning more about the digital space and the opportunities available for them and also provide them with valuable insights and resources that could help them as they pursue their careers.
“Events like this aim to promote collaboration with key players in the ecosystem and create a platform for young girls and women to network, learn, and share their experiences in the digital space,” said Onyeka Ekeh, Head of Digital Skills at BlueSPACE Innovation Hub. The event, which was a collaboration between BlueCrest University and Innovation Sparks, served as a testament to the significance of empowering women in the digital space and providing them with opportunities to succeed.
