YEA and BlueSPACE train 2,000 youth for fintech space

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has partnered with BlueSPACE Innovations Hub to recruit, train and deploy 2,000 young persons into the digital financial services sector under BlueSPACE’s Finsoft Fellowship Initiative.

This was aimed at boosting government’s digitalisation agenda to enhance the country’s economic development.

YEA and BlueSPACE signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday 7 June at the YEA head office in Accra with the aim of promoting access to financing for young entrepreneurs in the digital economy.

The chief executive officer of YEA, Kofi Baah Agyepong, says this is a good time for the youth of Ghana to venture into the fintech space.

He emphasised that the agency is vigorously embarking on public-private partnerships to create a conducive environment for businesses that want to create jobs for unemployed youth in Ghana.

The representatives of BlueSPACE hinted plans to cover the entire country with their innovations, having found YEA a useful partner. They are currently concentrating on Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi.
